Read it because
It’s your first chance to enter the mortal realms and see Sigmar’s chosen warriors in action – heroes of heavenly magic in god-forged armour who ride the storm and bring death to the servants of Chaos, in this case the dreaded Goretide. The perfect place to start exploring the Age of Sigmar.

Actually picked up this book just to get a glimpse of the start of the age of Sigmar , and I was pleasantly surprised! Had me hooked right to the end. Definite recommendation for those wanting something to read while beginning with age of Sigmar :) and to those who want to read a great fantasy book.

I enjoyed this book. It's short, and covers only a single battle, but it does give us a glimpse into the new AoS universe. I felt like this book read like a comic, rather than a novel, but I think that's a good thing, in this example at least. I simply cannot wait to read the next one.

This was a great introduction to the new background of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. The only problem I have with the book is that it was pretty short for the price. I'm looking forward to learning more about these new realms.

I had high hopes for the first Age of Sigmar novel, but I have to express disappointment. The novel is mere exposition of the AoS boxed set first scenario with a few teasers tossed in. Fortunately its short and doesn't take too much attention to read. I know the author can do better, it felt like he was kept on a tight leash. Too bad, the story could have been a great launching point for the new universe. Give it a skip and just play the game instead.

Great introduction into AoS. I look forward to future novels expanding the storyline.
