I love this series. Especially the hotter ones with Gabe Decklan and Max!! The author writes such hot love stories with the new light bdsm. Not the mean beating demeaning kind. Just enough of the alpha dominant but loving sexy kind guy. I'm hooked on this series. I own them all! And have preordered the next one.

This is the 8th book in the Dare To Love series. This book can be read as a standalone. The reading of the books, in order, adds to the enjoyment and understanding of the series. Max Savage and Lucy Dare have known each other for years. Lucy does not want a fling, but that has not stopped her from lusting after him. Her feelings have been put on hold, since she does not want to be with someone who could hurt her again. Max has been in love with Lucy as long as he can remember. He has avoided chasing after her, since he is good friends with her brothers. He does not want to risk all that he has with the Dare family. When they give him the green light to go after her, he decides that winner takes all. They are so good together, even though they both have secrets from the past that are needing to be communicated. The banter is good, the sexy times are hot, and the story is just a genuine good love story! This is a definite keeper for my shelf!! ***This ARC has been given in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic story about Max Savage and Lucy Dare. Max is a childhood friend of Gabe, Declan and Lucy Dare, of the New York Dares. Max finally gets the approval of her brothers and moves full speed ahead to win Lucy's heart. Is it too late? Are the changes he sees in her permanent or can he seduce the wild and free out of her? His marriage to Cindy crushed her! I can almost feel Lucy's pain and hesitation over Max's sudden attention. It breaks my heart that because of life's tragedies, they've wasted so many years. I love that Max wants her so much and has the patience to wait it out. This is a great addition to the Dare to Love series. Carly Phillips has done it again! I can't wait for the next one.
