From the Ashes

From the Ashes

When Charlie returns to Lichfield, she steps into chaos. The killer is still on the loose, Lady Harcourt's secret is out, Seth and Gus are gone, and Lady Vickers has come to stay. But nothing compares to the chaos inflicted on Charlie's heart by seeing Lincoln every day.

Despite their frequent clashes, Lincoln and Charlie manage to work together to narrow their list of suspects. No one can be trusted, especially not the members of the committee who are not what they seem. Long buried pasts are dug up as Charlie and Lincoln attempt to restore peace to Lichfield.

But when danger enters her home, Charlie's world is shattered.

  • Perfect Milestone to End the Series

Book 6 is the perfect book for me to end this journey. If you reached this book straight through from Book 1, and reflect on the evolutions of Charlie and Lincoln, and the Lichfield staff its truly amazing to see the growth from everyone. The author did an amazing job of keeping this characters consistently entertaining and makes a reader want to know where their journey takes them. We pretty much get the ending you want without disappointment and … as a reader we learn the origins of the mystery in Book 1!! Plus, I read the synopsis from Book 7 forward, and it feels a bit added on too keep the story going. Continue on if you want, but I believe this is where it should end.

  • Nice recovery

Believable emotion between Charlie and Lincoln. A surprisingly likable Lady Vickers, but bored of the petulant council. Gillingham has never been believable, and now Lady Harcourt is boring as well..
