I volunteered to read an ARC of this book. I have been waiting for a Montgomery twin to get his story for awhile now, and every word I read made the wait worth it. i've always looked at the Montgomery twins as something of an enigma. They are present throughout the series but more on the periphery than the other brothers and sisters. I expected an aloof and business-centric Storm but instead got an H who went above and beyond for those he cared about. A man whose emotions ran deep and whose sense of duty was beyond compare. His relationship with Everly was hinted at in some of the other books but the actuality of it was so much more. Everly herself is someone you fall for almost immediately. Her strength, focus and love for her family are something every mother should strive for but it's her vulnerability that shapes the story. The passion that develops between these two characters is off-the-charts and you can't help but sigh when it is realized. This was one of those books I didn't want to end and would have happily read another 50 thousand words of.

When the book begins, we watch as Storm and his best friend’s pregnant wife, Everly, banter and share a friendship that most would kill for. But, that happy time quickly comes to a halt when the police show up at Everly’s door to inform her of a tragic accident that has taken the life of his friend and her husband, Jackson. As Everly processes the information, her water breaks and she delivers her sons…twin boys, and proceeds to learn how to live a life and raise her children without their father. Storm had always promised his friend that he would look after his family, but when tragedy strikes, Everly pushes storm away, and their relationship becomes a bit more strained. Three years pass, and unthinkable acts of cruelty and malice attempt to rip Everly apart piece by piece. As always, Storm is there…helping Everly in any way he can to make her life and the life of those two boys as good as possible. Fighting a change in their relationship for a long time, Storm and Everly find it harder and harder to keep each other at arms length. This is the first of the Montgomery Ink series that I have read, though I have experienced Ms. Ryan’s paranormal worlds before. I was very intrigued, and drawn into this story of love, loss, betrayal, tragedy, and ultimate redemption. The Montgomery family has always called to me, so I jumped at the chance to finally read one of their stories. The first thing I noticed was the sexy as hell cover, and the captivating blurb. Storm and Everly’s story called to me on a primal level, and I was thrilled to see it come to completion. The characters were authentic and real, both harboring demons and secrets of their own. Their compassion, strength, and love were inspiring and heartbreaking. I fell in love with them all immediately, and desperately want to become a part of the Montgomery clan! The plot and storyline were creative and well thought out, and detailed. My only disappointment was that it seemed to drag on. In areas that didn't require a lot of detail, the story dragged. Then at other times, it skipped over what I would consider important plot points and twists. There was a lot of turmoil in this book, and the plot twists were somewhat predictable. The plot twists weren’t concentrated on nearly as much as some of the lesser points, and honestly, the sex. Now, I LOVE a steamy sex scene as much as the next girl, but I love a flawlessly executed plot even better. So, it may not have been everything I hoped for, but I wasn’t too disappointed. I will be checking out more of the Montgomery family, and look forward to seeing them all again. Kristie K

This book was the perfect addition to the Montgomery Ink series. It drew me in from the beginning, and the twists and turns held me there to the last page. I loved seeing Storm find his HEA, and Everly was perfect for him. Full of mystery, suspense, and scenes that heat up the pages, this is a must read!!!

Loved it!!!! I was so pleased to get to know Storm better in this story. He has always seemed so aloof yet willing to help any family member or friend. Understanding his story and getting to know Everly made the story so much better. Storm is a protector and that comes through loud and clear. Everly is a survivor and a strong woman, perfect for Storm great read!!!!

Storm never thought he could fall for his best friends wife and Everly thought she lost the love of her life the night her twin boys were born. Three years after the loss of Jackson, a major secret comes out that no one saw coming. Everly is at a low point in her life but Storm is there every step of the way helping her and the boys. But, the question is will she let Storm help her? I love this series and never want it to end. Loved see all the Montgomery together again. Can't wait for Wes and Jillian.
