A Clash of Kings

A Clash of Kings

Available only on Apple Books, this enhanced edition is an amazing way to explore the rich world of George R. R. Martin’s series. Stay on top of the epic story lines with annotations, glossaries, and family trees. Follow each main character’s journey with interactive maps. Explore the symbolism of every house’s sigil. In addition to hundreds of enhancements, you’ll find an excerpt of The Winds of Winter, the hugely anticipated sixth book in Martin’s series.

In this thrilling sequel to A Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin has created a work of unsurpassed vision, power, and imagination. A Clash of Kings transports us to a world of revelry and revenge, wizardry and warfare unlike any we have ever experienced.

A comet the color of blood and flame cuts across the sky. And from the ancient citadel of Dragonstone to the forbidding shores of Winterfell, chaos reigns. Six factions struggle for control of a divided land and the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, preparing to stake their claims through tempest, turmoil, and war. It is a tale in which brother plots against brother and the dead rise to walk in the night. Here a princess masquerades as an orphan boy; a knight of the mind prepares a poison for a treacherous sorceress; and wild men descend from the Mountains of the Moon to ravage the countryside. Against a backdrop of incest and fratricide, alchemy and murder, victory may go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel . . . and the coldest hearts. For when kings clash, the whole land trembles.

  • Great Follow up Book

Not as amazing as the first book but still phenomenal Tyrion’s chapters were excellent.

  • The whole series

I too have technical problems, but my main complaint is the annotations. They tend to provide the same information, in flat language, that is written in the author’s much more colorful prose in the next paragraph or two. I have chosen to ignore them.

Would love to review this book but it won’t download. How can I get it to download?

  • Great edition, but not quite up to Book 1

The lovely maps, glossaries, and annotations are still here. But while the enhanced Game of Thrones featured many fine illustrations, the publisher was relatively stingy with them this time. The real estate gets some representation, but there are few depictions of characters. I can’t help but think the publisher was happy to hook us with the elaborate Book One and then spread the remaining wealth among the rest of the series. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, because I’m very likely to purchase the next book!
