Secrets in Death

Secrets in Death

A new novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series: Lt. Eve Dallas must separate rumors from reality when a woman who traffics in other people’s secrets is silenced.

The chic Manhattan nightspot Du Vin is not the kind of place Eve Dallas would usually patronize, and it’s not the kind of bar where a lot of blood gets spilled. But that’s exactly what happens one cold February evening.

The mortally wounded woman is Larinda Mars, a self-described “social information reporter,” or as most people would call it, a professional gossip. As it turns out, she was keeping the most shocking stories quiet, for profitable use in her side business as a blackmailer. Setting her sights on rich, prominent marks, she’d find out what they most wanted to keep hidden and then bleed them dry. Now someone’s done the same to her, literally—with a knife to the brachial artery.

Eve didn’t like Larinda Mars. But she likes murder even less. To find justice for this victim, she’ll have to plunge into the dirty little secrets of all the people Larinda Mars victimized herself. But along the way, she may be exposed to some information she really didn’t want to know…

  • I love the series.

Good book. I jumped out of order coming back to the series but I’ll be continuing from where I left off last time.

  • Secrets in Death

As usual the awesome duo Dallas and Roarke team up on the bad guy! I had someone else pegged but Dallas works her way through it with pizazz. Always keeps me entertained from beginning to end and I can’t put it down! Love love love it and JD/Nora!!

  • Great Story

I have read all of books in this series.I look forward to each one.Bought them in hard cover for years, have switched to e-books on my IPad,I have collected to many paperbacks and hard covers, reading from IPad is much better.I started reading the Eve Dallas series in 2000 I think.I was looking for a good book to read on weekend,I looked at one and became curious because I’m from Dallas, born and raised here.I read it in one night and knew I had to find first one written and get back story.Every book is just a little better than the last.Hard to wait another 6 or so months for next one.

  • Lame

All this build-up about numerous people who could have committed the murders and then the crime was “solved” by identifying the most obvious person. Totally lame story. Done with this author.

  • A bit of a yawn, this one.

Not the usual intense story line. First time I could put down the book for a while and not feel compelled to open it back up. And I have read every book.
