Predator

Predator

Dr. Kay Scarpetta, now freelancing with the National Forensic Academy in Florida, takes charge of a case that stretches from steamy Florida to snowbound Boston; one that at first appears as unnerving as any she has ever faced.

The teasing psychological clues lead Scarpetta and her team—Pete Marino, Benton Wesley, and Lucy Farinelli—to suspect that they are hunting someone with a cunning and malevolent mind whose secrets have kept them in the shadows, until now. Predator is proof once again that Patricia Cornwell has few peers with her extraordinary ability to entertain and enthrall.

This book took forever to get to a decent point, not her best work.

I did not enjoy this book at all … too fragmented .. in fact not sure I will read any more of her books .. I enjoyed her books when I started this series but then she started adding such bad language that was totally uncalled for making it difficult to read.

  • WHAT is going on???

Can someone PLEASE tell me if I somehow missed a book between Trace and Predator? So much has changed but according to every listing of the Scarpetta series I am looking at this is the correct order. TLP is gone, Scarpetta works for Lucy, Marino rides a Harley...I'm confused. Oh, and Lucy drinks. And Marino smokes. What the heck.

  • Predator-Not so Great

This book had great potential. The technical aspects take a leap from reality from time to time. As a LE professional, I was stumped at how Lucy has become transformed into a millionaire "Jason Bourne." Also, regardless of "Free Training" given to them, would any LE agencies really put up with civilians mucking up real crime scenes? Again the narrator is distracting with a slight lisp (really?). Without spoiling it, the end is disappointing.
