I enjoyed this very much. True to her style, Jance gets to the story quickly and moves with it smoothly never losing the reader in the process. The book held my interest and had me guessing as I read. The Sheriff is believable, likable, and grows with each story. The story is supported by other characters whose successes and heartaches contribute to the understanding and development of the main character.
