The Bad Beginning

The Bad Beginning

SOON TO BE A NETFLIX ORIGINAL SERIES

Are you made fainthearted by death? Does fire unnerve you? Is a villain something that might crop up in future nightmares of yours? Are you thrilled by nefarious plots? Is cold porridge upsetting to you? Vicious threats? Hooks? Uncomfortable clothing?

It is likely that your answers will reveal A Series of Unfortunate Events to be ill-suited for your personal use. A librarian, bookseller, or acquaintance should be able to suggest books more appropriate for your fragile temperament. But to the rarest of readers we say, "Proceed, but cautiously."

  • So depressing. 😟😕🙁☹️😣😖😫😩😭💦

Don’t read this book if you like books that have a decent amount of positive outcomes, romance, love, friendship, morality, heroism, bravery, or anything of the sort. Do read this book if you like horrid villains, mysteries, betrayal, and constant twists and turns and Always the ever present disappointment. 🤥🤥🤥 I had this book recommended to me by a very reliable friend who also likes “the hobbit” “the Lord of the rings” “the Wingfeather saga” “the Green ember” and all good books of that sort so I decided to take his word for it. I read the first chapter of the first book in this series and I was ready to gif up, it was all sad all depression I couldn’t take it! It’s not that Lemony Snicket is a particularly bad author (though his style is not preferable) it’s just that I can’t understand why anyone in their right mind would write a book where only bad things happen, unless perhaps they themselves have only had bad things happen to them but of course if one had only had bad things happen they would not wish for good things because they would not know what could things are like and thus would not know any better. Even though I didn’t want to I made up my mind to finish the book because I wanted to be prudent and read it before judging it so I read the first, second, and third book and then actually gave up on it. The first was simply too sad, the second it began to get on my nerves and the third was disgusting. 🫣🫣🫣 If I have thus offended any of you who actually like this book congratulations for having such undistinguished taste in literature. I hope you’re happy. 😜😜😜

Violet showed courage no matter how hard it got! She fought not for herself but for her siblings! This book was utterly hilarious! Can’t wait to read the one!🤩
