A Crown of Swords

A Crown of Swords

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In A Crown of Swords, the seventh novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, a rebellious uprising threatens Rand al’Thor's rule as he prepares to battle an even more dangerous enemy.

Incited by nobles seeking to reclaim their places of power, armies march against the Dragon Reborn. As Rand tries to restore order, he discovers a lack of loyalty even among the warrior Aiel, and still mistrusts the rebel Aes Sedai even though they swore allegiance.

But nothing can stop Rand and his Asha'man soldiers from storming the city of Illian to confront the Forsaken Sammael, and challenge him to a duel of the One Power with the winner taking the Crown of Swords...

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Reviews
  • Devoured this one immediately after book 6!

This book continued to develop all of the intertwined storylines & see our favorite characters come further & further "into their own." Favorites without spoiling: Ebou Dar & the Bowl of the Winds, Nyneave's power & Elayne's masterful turning of the tables on the Aes Sedai, Min, Mat's relationship w/ Nyneave & Elayne growing & the darkness spreading as only specks of light come through..seemingly enough to give them a chance for victory against the dark one. Excited for the second half of the series now!

  • Weirdly violent

Sudden introduction of sexual violence and bungled attempt at adult themes in the SEVENTH book of a standard 90s fantasy.

  • Much better than the show

The books are amazingly well used for character development and plot movement. One of my favorites in the series because of how much the characters grow and change.

  • WAY too long, redundant, and sloppily edited

This series just goes on forever without anything happening. First few books are good but then everything gets bogged down in overly redundant characterization and story lines. Can't believe anyone puts WOT in the same paragraph as LOTR, never mind the same sentence. One is a masterpiece, the other, 13 books too long.
