I’ve read many of P. Cornwell’s books, and enjoyed them. This one had almost too much going on from a previous book so it was a bit confusing. Finally got hooked in. I very much like books that have nanobots in them. So frightening and fascinating!

Confusing at first but captivating at the end!

Not the suspense filled novel that I have enjoyed in other Scarpetta series novels. Though the book was excellent, it did lack the action that I kept waiting for. Just a slight letdown.

Why do I keep reading the Scarpetta books? I don't really know, maybe boredom. Same, same, same...predictably Scarpetta stories start in ice and snow, Kay stressed out, but nevertheless heroic. Lucy excessive and with borderline criminal actions saves the day, Marino, capable and smart, still needs Kay's protection against all odds, Benton, the strong, silent type is beyond human failure, however never quite correct in his assessments, only Kay, who always cooks, but never eats or sleeps, super humanly recognizes the villain and his/her motives who without fail attacks heroic Kay in the last 2 chapters and can not win the confrontation, either dies or gets then arrested. No real plot, no build up to the plot. All seems flat, unemotional, tepid, predictable.
