This not a happy book. It tells of a horrific event exasterbated by the justice system's total incompetence. Reading this book made me sad, mad, frustrated and made me dislike lawyers even more than I already do. During this emotional journey I suddenly realized that Joseph Wambaugh brought me here with his brilliance to show me a snapshot of the real world.

Every police officer and family member should read this book! It tell our story when the s&$@ hits the fan on the streets. How we feel , why we dont talk about the evil things we have to see and deal with. Only a cop can explain our world to the masses.
