The First Men in the Moon

The First Men in the Moon

The novel tells the story of a journey to the moon by the impecunious businessman Mr Bedford and the brilliant but eccentric scientist Dr Cavor. On arrival, Bedford and Cavor find the moon inhabited by a race of moon-folk the two call Selenites.

Reviews
  • Typical HG

At times the story got a little tedious and caught up in the usual flair with which the author writes. Not a bad story all things considered though.

  • Intriguing

This is a great story. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is that the Science is extremely dated. Otherwise, it's a very entertaining read.

  • Strange, though entertaining

I really enjoyed reading this original version scifi. A trip to the moon in a glass sphere proved to be quite an adventure. I like the dialogue, the characters and the intrigue. It is quite a story telling.
