In The Supreme Macaroni Company, bestselling author Adriana Trigiani weaves a heartbreaking story that begins on the eve of a wedding in New York's Greenwich Village and culminates in beautiful Tuscany. Family, work, romance, and the unexpected twists of life and fate all come together in an unforgettable narrative that Trigiani fans will adore.
For over a hundred years, the Angelini Shoe Company in Greenwich Village has relied on the leather produced by Vechiarelli & Son in Tuscany. This ancient business partnership provides the twist of fate for Valentine Roncalli, the schoolteacher turned shoemaker, to fall in love with Gianluca Vechiarelli, a tanner with a complex past . . . and a secret.
But after the wedding celebrations are over, Valentine wakes up to the hard reality of juggling the demands of a new business and the needs of her new family. Confronted with painful choices, Valentine remembers the wise words that inspired her in the early days of her beloved Angelini Shoe Company: "A person who can build a pair of shoes can do just about anything." Now the proud, passionate Valentine is going to fight for everything she wants and savor all she deserves—the bitter and the sweet of life itself.
Reviews
I couldn’t put this book down. I love all of Adriana’s novels. Always bringing up her homeland. This was such a compelling novel, the end unpredictable. Valentina and Gianluca are characters I won’t soon forget.

I have read a few of Adriana's books. She has wonderful humor! I laughed out loud so many times I think my kids began to think I was crazy! This book did not disappoint. She writes everything with such beautiful timing. I cried my eyes red but in the end the journey through the tears was well worth. Beautiful story!
By Excellent book!
First let me say, I have read all of Ms. Trigiani's books and I am a very loyal fan. Completely relate and love the character of Valentine and her big, Italian family. The other two books in the trilogy are great, this had potential...<<<>>> Until Gianluca dies at the end. In my opinion it was not needed and came out of nowhere. Could have ended many other ways. Still hope there is another book coming.

Disappointing. Not nearly as good as the other 2 books in this series. I was so excited to read this as I loved everything else that I have read by this author. I felt that this book didn't have nearly the depth of the others. It seemed like she had a great idea to write a final book for this series but once she got into it, got tired of it and just abruptly ended it. Still love her books though...especially those that take us to Italy!
