Love the Prey books, and this one is decent enough. Just not as fun to read as the original 20-30 Prey books. Liked them better when Lucas Davenport and Del and Virgil were the focus in Minneapolis chasing serial killers. The NSA stuff is mostly chasing around, with less insight into the bad guy. Also, Letty isn’t as interesting as Lucas and his boys. The older Prey books are all 6 stars out of 5. This one is a 3-star for me. Great premise, meandering execution.

Very realistic in today’s society of fear and rebellion. Very interesting read of government authority during a national crises and just how sick and mental some people get they believe they are helping the world by killing humans.

A struggle to read, seems a half effort.

This seemed like a phone it in. Reminds me of what happened to Stuart woods. Dialog is just he said, she, said, she said with no thought. Like letty previous but her character wasn’t good in this one. Too many other characters with no real point for them in the story.

5 Stars. I heard a bunch of bad things about this one and for me, they were wrong. People don’t like Letty. I do. My guess is the subject matter bothered some people’s politics, which is nothing new in this wonderful world we find ourselves living in today. For me, it was frightening and all too realistic. I truly hope that it doesn’t play out in my lifetime but I’m not holding my breath given recent events. I like Letty. She’s definitely her father’s daughter and I welcome more books with her if Sanford wants to give them to us. The Prey novels will always be in my top ten series, probably towards the top.
