I think I'm about through with sci-fi as a genre. As. Kid I used to eat this stuff up and some of it was good but after this sampling of oldies I realize that a lot of the "stories" are just prose in service of a punch line or old pulp story lines rewritten in a spacesuit. The final story is, in fact, a rather bad pun. I did enjoy rereading Robert Silverberg's piece and it was better than I remembered but I won't waste my time again on Poul Anderson. I suppose everyone develops a more refined palette the more they read but I would only recommend this collection to beginners.

I'm fairly certain that most of this was written by 7th graders in a creative writing class, hence the title of the book. Terrible. Just terrible. The stories are unintelligent and often incomplete. The plots are sometimes reminiscent of rehashed 50's garbage pail sci-fi, written very poorly. Don't waste your time.
