The Prince

The Prince

The Prince (Italian: Il Principe, [il ˈprin.tʃi.pe]) is a political treatise by the Italian diplomat, historian and political theorist Niccolò Machiavelli. From correspondence a version appears to have been distributed in 1513, using a Latin title, De Principatibus (About Principalities). However, the printed version was not published until 1532, five years after Machiavelli's death. This was done with the permission of the Medici pope Clement VII, but "long before then, in fact since the first appearance of the Prince, in manuscript, controversy had swirled about his writings".

Reviews
  • Solid book

Solid book. Minor typos where I have no idea what they’re saying. But overall good

  • Not an easy read

The Prince is not an easy book to read. It was written in a certain time in history but if a reader is able to overcome that, you will find a book with interesting stories with characters that make you think.

Great read to understand a principality and the moral standpoints upon such positions.
