The Concise Guide to the Diamond DA42
This guide focuses on the DA42 TwinStar, equipped with Technify engines as well as the DA42NG, and DA42VI, both equipped with Austro E4-B engines. The content is divided into two main sections; Systems Overview and Flight Procedures.

My CFI recommended this book as I am training on a DA42NG, and I think it is an excellent resource. While it doesn’t replace the POH, it certainly is easier to read and has great illustrations, too. Highly recommended if you fly this type.

I am a flight instructor at multiple flying clubs for a long time. This book is the best I have seen so far. It is very well organized, does not miss any detail, easy to find what you are looking for, and easy to read with lots of diagrams and pictures. Kudos to the author!

I would give this book 5 stars for the content. I love using this book while teaching multiengine students. The layout is awful. Super hard to bounce around the book and there is no way to have one page after the other. It’s extremely infuriating. I have experienced this issue on the iPad.

Personally, I’ve referenced this book for my own refresher training in the Da42 TDI variant. Now that I’m providing instruction in the Da42 I have my students purchase this book. Advantages: LOTS of pictures with explanations on nearly every page, Multi-Engine Transition section (all the info I need to teach the multi add-on), differences between the various 1.7, 2.0 & NG, review questions (for homework or in class discussion)

I am the owner of a Diamond DA42 NG and been flying the plane for two years. Prior to the publication of this book there was no one place to clearly and concisely learn about all of the various systems and the practical flying of the aircraft. This book describes all of the systems and their application to the safe and successful operation of the DA42 and DA42 NG. It was invaluable to me in earning my multi-engine. I find that even after reading this book I am constantly using it as a reference when a question arises. While the POH is mandatory reading, this book should be as well for anyone flying the Diamond aircraft.
