Star Wars: Before the Awakening

Star Wars: Before the Awakening

A companion piece to the "Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens" character novels, Star Wars: Before the Awakening is an anthology book that focuses on the lives of Rey, Finn, and Poe before the events of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Reviews
  • Not worth a quarter portion

This book adds nothing to what we know about the characters. In particular, Rey's story, which is the shortest of them, has a razor thin plot with an obvious ending. Almost all of it is action and trivial dialogue, almost devoid of character description or development. The only thing we learn is that Rey has a flight simulator, which is how she has learned to fly. Don't waste your money buying it or your time reading it.

  • Great read!

This was an amazing, informative short novel about Finn, Rey and Poe before Force Awakens. It's pretty nice to see what they were thinking before things went they way they did. I would definitely recommend this book.

  • Loved it

Only complaint is I wish it was longer! I could read full length novels about each character. Well written! (which is more than I can say for "Aftermath" by Chuck Wendig... that piece of crap was worse than teenage poetry. A total waste of my time. F*** you, Chuck, you two-bit hack!)
