Boy, 15, admits killing teenager who was stabbed to death at school - but denies murder

A 15-year-old boy has admitted killing another teenager at school.

Harvey Willgoose, also 15, died after being stabbed through the heart at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield in February. The defendant, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and the possession of a bladed article at Sheffield Crown Court.

But he denied murder and will go on trial on 30 June. As he stood in the glass-fronted dock with an intermediary and three members of security staff, he was remanded by judge Jeremy Richardson KC into secure local authority care.

Dozens of people left flowers and messages outside the school after Harvey's death. He was a Sheffield United fan and his friends joined supporters and others affected by his death at Sheffield Town Hall to march to the ground ahead of the club's match against Portsmouth the weekend after his death.

During the game, play was stopped and applause broke out in the 15th minute, as fans and players paid tribute..
